I was interested in the works of Sonya Kelliher-Combs, mainly the use of objects close to her culture to paint with, they seemed to leave an imprint. Last semester I experimented with kokowai in my photography, but I wanted to also explore painting with it. So, I decided to combine the two concepts and came up with this result that I love.
