Seeds for sovereignty

I’m a solo mama to two inspiring tamariki. They ask me why some kids in the world have no kai or homes. I have no answers that will make sense to a child. There really is no answer that makes sense.
I will continue to hold them while they grieve for strangers. I will support them when they want to help. I can’t hide them from the realities of the world, but I can teach them about indigenous knowledge and dreaming.
I decided to make some art that puts food on more tables than our own. It’s made by recycling my household bills, while watching the brave acts of indigenous changemakers around the world.
Sometimes the problems seem too big to make a difference. Start small. Do what you can.

Instructions:
Tear a palm size piece of the artwork, place on top of small pot of soil, cover with 1cm soil lightly water, continue to lightly water daily. In approx. 2 weeks your microgreens should start growing, harvest to pop on your salads.
E kai, and dream of your contribution.
